Kinderling Kids Radio Launches ‘Week of Sleep’ Podcast Series
Kinderling Kids Radio has launched its inaugural ‘Week of Sleep’, which includes the release of two new and exciting podcast series aimed at helping parents tackle the challenges of getting little ones to sleep.
The podcasts being rolled out by the kids’ entertainment and education network are:
- ‘The Promise of Sleep’, (for parents)
- ‘Bedtime Explorers, Animal Magic’ (for children)
‘The Promise of Sleep’ is a six-part series hosted by presenter, journalist, producer and mum of two Shevonne Hunt and shares insider tips, tricks and expert discussions on all things sleep-related. Each episode features leading industry professionals including lactation consultant and author Pinky McKay, Mothercraft nurse and sleep consultant Chris Minogue and Senior Nurse Educator Fran Chavasse.
‘The Promise of Sleep’ aims to share knowledge, bust myths and provide professional insight into some of sleep’s hot topics, such as self-soothing, controlled crying and co-sleeping.
‘Bedtime Explorers’ is a relaxing meditation series, designed specifically for little ones. It features the calming voice of mindfulness coach Amy Taylor-Kabbaz and beautiful sound design by Max Gosford. Each episode invites kids on an imaginative journey, using easy-to-learn meditation techniques to get them ready for bed.
Season one of ‘Bedtime Explorers’ – a relaxing meditation series, designed specifically for little ones – had more than 100,000 downloads and parents have praised it as an excellent tool for children with anxiety and sleep issues. In season two – themed ‘Animal Magic’ – children are introduced to strengths-based mindfulness techniques through the imagery of animals, helping them build a resilience toolbox while being entertained.
When it comes to sleep, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach…
‘Promise of Sleep’ host and Kinderling Kids Radio presenter Hunt said parents of young children are always looking for solutions when it comes to the age-old challenge of sleep. “When it comes to sleep, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Our goal is to provide parents with unbiased expert advice from a diverse range of professionals, so they can find the solutions that work best for them,” she says.
“As a mother of two young children, I too have had to tackle the dreaded bedtime routine. Sleep deprivation can be one of the great challenges of parenthood. We hope our ‘Week of Sleep’ prompts parents to consider new information and approaches, even those considered somewhat taboo, without prejudice or judgement.”
Parents can listen to the ‘Promise of Sleep’ and ‘Bedtime Explorers’ on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or via the Kinderling website. ‘Bedtime Explorers’ can also be accessed as a skill on Amazon Alexa.
